Will Waynes Follow Gordon?

Kenosha Bradford High School had two of the top in-state targets in the 2011 recruiting class with running back Melvin Gordon and cornerback Trae Waynes. With Gordon expecting to switch his commitment to Wisconsin, has he reached out to his good friend to join him?

MADISON - Early in the recruiting process Melvin Gordon and Trae Waynes could see themselves going to the same school. They made unofficial visits to a number of different schools, attended camps together, and were looking to play together at the next level.

However, as time moved on, Gordon made a commitment to Iowa.

Waynes followed up with a commitment to Michigan State.

Since then, there wasn't any news regarding the duo from Kenosha (WI) Bradford, until news broke last week that Gordon was going to be de-committing from Iowa and was look at one school – The University of Wisconsin.

With all the news around Gordon's recruitment, where does that leave Waynes?

Badger Nation caught up with Waynes to ask him what he thought about Gordon's de-commitment and if the Badgers were still recruiting him.

"Not so much anymore," Waynes said of still being recruited by the Badgers. "(As far as Melvin) I think he will make the choice best for him and I'll support him for it, but yeah he did ask me to (de-commit from Michigan State)."

Is he a solid commitment for Michigan State?

"Yea."

The Badgers currently have 20 verbal commitments in the Class of 2011. Gordon's impending verbal commitment would make 21 with just one or two spots remaining.
