Wisconsin Post Game - Belmont

Seniors Tim Jarmusz and Keaton Nankivil and sophomore Jared Berggren address the media after No.4 Wisconsin beats No.13 Belmont, 72-58, to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday.

Tim Jarmusz

On being called a "role player":

"Oh, definitely! Our offense really runs through Jon (Leuer) and Jordan (Taylor), but if I'm open, I'll shoot it. I just try to hard-defend and do whatever I can to help out the team."

On Mike Bruesewitz's knee injury:

"We weren't sure how many minutes, if any, he was going to be able to give us. We weren't sure if he was going to be able to give us any help, so all the help he gave us was awesome. He didn't miss a beat after being out of practice."

On "experts" picking Belmont to upset Wisconsin:

"People are always going to talk about that. They can talk about Wisconsin losing, but the real talk is on the court. We came out and proved ourselves out there today."

Keaton Nankivil

On getting a win after a couple consecutive losses:

"This is one and done, so you don't have a choice. You have to win to keep your season alive. We have been preparing hard all week. Our goal is to string some more W's in a row here."

On the offense:

"We hit open shots. We moved the ball well, which really helps. We read the defense and were able to exploit some holes in it."

Jared Berggren

On his two made three point shots:

"I've been waiting for my opportunity to step in and contribute off the bench. I've actually been having some difficulties with my outside shot in practice. I'm glad I got those messy shots out of the way so I could make those shots in the game."

On winning after the last game:

"We've been struggling a little in the last few games. It feels good to get back on track and play better in the game. Hopefully, we can take this win and continue to move forward."

General game thoughts:

"It feels good when shots go down and you are having success. We obviously have a lot of things to improve on, and a lot of things to learn from. There is a quick turnaround in the next few days; we find out who our opponent is tonight so we can get out there and prepare for Saturday."
