No.6 Wisconsin start wasn't ideal but the Badgers started clicking on all cylinders from the second quarter on, scoring quickly on six straight possessions to turn an uncomfortably close game in a 59-10 blowout over South Dakota Saturday at Camp Randall.
Four different players found the end zone for Wisconsin, including a pair of touchdowns from junior running back Montee Ball and senior wide receiver Nick Toon, as the Badgers piled up 612 yards of total offense. In the last two weeks, Wisconsin's offense has racked up 1,233 yards of offense.
Senior quarterback Russell Wilson went over 300-yards passing for the second straight game, finishing with 345 yards and three touchdowns. In the last two games, Wilson has thrown for 692 yards, six touchdowns and one interception.
Senior Nick Toon and sophomore Jared Abbrederis drove the offense. Toon caught seven passes for 155 yards and two scores and Abbrederis added five catches for 101 yards and a score, giving the Badgers two 100-yard receivers for first time since Paul Hubbard (134) and Travis Beckum (106) accomplished the feat against Michigan on Nov 10, 2007.
While the offense was putting up the fireworks, Wisconsin's defense continues its torrent start. In holding its third straight opponent to 10 points or less, Wisconsin limited the Coyotes (2-2) to less than 175 total yards and registered its first two interceptions if the year.
Wisconsin goes 4-0 for the third straight season and will stay at home next weekend for the Big Ten conference opener against No.9 Nebraska.

Montee Ball 5-yard run (Kyle French kick)

10 plays, 73 yards, 4:32 TOP, 3:11 left
FG Kyle French 25
Key Play: In one of the better catches you'll see, Toon elevated to get his right hand on a high Wilson pass, somehow was able to control it and brought it into his chest before getting hit from behind. The 22-yard gain gave Uw a first down inside the 15. A Jacob Pedersen drop on a pass thrown just ahead of him forced the kick.
13 plays, 59 yards, 7:36 TOP, 6:34 left
FG Kevin Robb 24
Key Play:Despite allowing opponents to convert just 13 of 40 on third downs, the Coyotes converted three straight on the drive, including a 22-yard run by Marcus Sims on third-and-2 to get South Dakota to the 9.
2 plays, 61 yards, :39 TOP, 5:34 left
James White 49-yard run (French kick)
Key Play:Running and cutting his way through the South Dakota defense, James White broke the play around the 35 and patiently waited for Jared Abbrederis to get downfield and block the safety at the 3, allowing White to trot into the end zone.
3 plays, 78 yards, 1:12 TOP, 3:04 left
Nick Toon 59-yard pass from Russell Wilson (French kick)
Key Play:Jared Abbrederis won't be credited with the touchdowns, but definitely deserves the assists. After his block helped White get in the end zone, Abbrederis sealed the cornerback on the bubble screen, giving Toon just enough room to get to the sideline and turn the play upfield for the score.
9 plays, 74 yards, 1:45 TOP, :12 left
Nick Toon 6-yard pass from Russell Wilson (French kick)
Key Play:After a couple drops in the end zone, leave it to Nick Toon to make a great sliding catch. The Badgers are picking up steam and it's all thanks to the senior.
1 play, 51 yards, :10 TOP, 13:08 left
Jared Abbrederis 51-yard pass from Russell Wilson (French kick)
Key Play:After two of his blocks sprung touchdowns, Abbrederis' good karma gets rewarded, being wide open on a 51-yard pass play that was simply too easy.
11 play, 77 yards, 4:35 TOP, 5:57 left
Montee Ball 2-yard run (French kick)

9 plays, 57 yards, 4:15 TOP, 12:28 left
Melvin Gordon 4-yard touchdown(French kick)

Michael Nielsen 4-yard pass from Josh Vander maten (Robb kick)

8 plays, 67 yards, 4:32 TOP, 2:06 left
