Fuller's Interest Increasing

One of the many 2013 basketball prospects in attendance for Wisconsin football's victory over Nebraska, Sun Prairie forward Nick Fuller recaps the visit and where he stands with the badgers coaching staff.

MADISON – One of the many 2013 basketball prospects in attendance to watch Wisconsin beat Nebraska in the Big Ten conference opener, Sun Prairie 6-6 forward Nick Fuller was impressed with the Badgers game day atmosphere.

"Wisconsin and Nebraska says it right there, we went on a couple of tours to see different parts of the Wisconsin campus," Fuller told Badger Nation. "It was a fun time and the gameday atmosphere and crowd was amazing."

Fuller sat with one of his friends at the football game along with 2012 Badgers walk-on commit Zak Showalter from Germantown.

"It was fun watching the game with those two guys," Fuller said. "Zak and I have been good buddies for a while we didn't really talk much basketball. It was just general stuff and about life. I congratulated him on becoming a Badger."

Besides sitting with his two friends at the football game, Fuller was also able to speak with the Badgers coaching staff.

"I talked with all three Badgers assistant coaches and than I spoke with Bo Ryan for 45 minutes to an hour," Fuller said. "My dad joined me when I spoke with Coach Ryan. We spoke about how he thought I had a pretty good summer. We also spoke about other things off the basketball court."

Fuller currently doesn't have a scholarship offer from the Badgers but the interest level seems to be picking up.

"When I was talking with Coach Ryan, we didn't talk about when an offer may be coming, but associate head coach Greg Gard has been staying in contact with me as well as my head coach Jeff Boos at Sun Prairie," Fuller said.

If Fuller plays well his junior season for the Cardinals, he could see an offer come his way from Wisconsin.

"We have a bunch of new guys who will be joining the varsity basketball team this coming year," Fuller said. "But I still think the leadership on the team and the chemistry on the team that we still can have a good season."

Fuller and his Cardinals teammates have team goals for this coming basketball season but Fuller has individual goals that center around the team, as well. If Fuller and Sun Prairie accomplish their goals, they expect to have a good season.

"Team goals are to win the Big Eight conference and make it to state this year," Fuller said. "My individual goal is to help the team win in any way. If it's through passing, rebounding, on the defensive side of the floor. Anything that will help the team win and succeed this coming season I'll do it. If we do what were suppose to do we should finish somewhere in the top three of the Big Eight conference."
