Big Double Day for Hirschfeld

After his team won the WIAA Division 1 state championship in November, Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead defensive end Billy Hirschfeld picked up his first scholarship offer from Minnesota. following the conclusion of the Big Ten season, Wisconsin and Michigan State have come calling.

MADISON - After locking down Hartland (Wis.) Arrowhead's top offensive player last spring, Wisconsin is looking to secure the Warhawks top defensive player in the coming months.

Considered the top uncommitted in-state junior, defensive end Billy Hirschfeld received his third scholarship offer from the Badgers Monday night, according to a text message sent to BadgerNation.

The 6-6, 265-pound prospect also received an offer from Michigan State, joining an offer from Minnesota and interest from Nebraska, Notre Dame and Northern Illinois.

All the offers have come on the heels of Hartland Arrowhead winning the state title with a dominant 35-14 victory over Sun Prairie, the state's second-ranked team, on Nov.19.

Hirschfeld has been in Madison multiple times this season, including the home season finale against Ohio State.

Junior offensive lineman George Panos was the first of five players currently committed to Wisconsin's 2014 recruiting class.
