MADISON - It turns out Marcus Ball's first choice wasn't the right choice.
Ball announced he is signing with Arizona State instead of sticking with his commitment to Wisconsin. He made that decision public Wednesday during a signing ceremony at his Westerville (OH) South High School.
He is rated by Fox Sports Next as a three-star recruit and the 46th-best safety in the country.
Originally choosing Wisconsin over his four other favorites - Arizona State, Michigan State, Notre Dame and USC – and 18 other scholarship offers, Ball decided to take other visits, including an official visit to Michigan and ASU, following the decision of Bret Bielema to leave for Arkansas.
Also getting a late offer from Tennessee, Ball spent the last two weeks debating between the Badgers and the Sun Devils, who he visited officially on January 11.
