Blacknall Building Relationship with Hammock

Continuing to develop inroads into New Jersey, Wisconsin pulled the trigger on an offer to Englishtown (N.J.) Manalapan High junior Saeed Blacknall.

MADISON - The state of New Jersey has been kind to the Badgers with one of their top rated signees in the 2013 class – tailback Corey Clement - coming out of Glassboro. Wisconsin looks to be taking advantage of its success in the state by offering top talent Englishtown (N.J.) Manalapan High junior Saeed Blacknall.

The 6-3, 190-pound wide receiver had already begun developing a relationship with Thomas Hammock when the running back coach visited Blacknall earlier in the season. Once the coaching situation got settled at Wisconsin, the Badgers decided to offer.

"I have a good relationship with Coach Thomas Hammock the running backs coach and we are always talking to get to know each other," Blacknall told Badger Nation. "The coaching staff loves me and watched my film, so that is when the offer came. I was really happy about it and I can't wait to learn more about the university and want to get out there to visit. I was really excited about the offer and what Wisconsin has to offer me.

Wisconsin has been one of many schools already recruiting Blacknall, who has already received offers Boston College, Connecticut, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and in-state Rutgers have all offers.

"My recruitment is going good," Blacknall said. "I guess you could say the past month or two it has picked up heavy as far as schools, coaches and everything, so it is starting to get a little more exciting. It is getting to the more juicer part where I am getting a lot more attention and my recruitment is just heating up."

With so many offers from traditional powerhouses, Blacknall sits neutral in his recruitment as far as favorites go. He hopes to change that during the spring and summer when his school schedule will allow him to visit more school, including possibly stopping to learn more about Wisconsin.

"I really don't know (anything) about the university yet, but the only thing that I know and love is the fan base," Blacknall said. "I love them, especially when the song ‘Jump Around' comes on and everyone starts jumping. I love that about them and how wild they are. I love the fan base at Wisconsin, so that is very cool."
