Wisconsin Targets Kamara

Recognizing the need to add elite wide receivers, the Wisconsin coaching staff would accomplish that feat if it were to add Norfolk (VA.) Lake Taylor junior wide receiver Jamil Kamara.

MADISON - Norfolk (VA.) Lake Taylor junior wide receiver Jamil Kamara is one of top receiving prospects in the nation and has seen his recruitment become more complex with new offers rolling in daily. The touted recruit found out Wednesday at practice that the Badgers were the latest BCS school offering him a full ride.

"My coach told me that they were on the phone and they had offered me," Kamara told Badger Nation. "I was very excited and surprised because I had no clue it was coming, but overall I'm really glad to have the offer now. Wisconsin has a powerful offense and they have a great program.

"They are definitely a big school and I have a lot of interest in. I'm just very glad to have the offer and I definitely like them. They will be a good contender on my lists."

The 6-2, 200-pound Kamara holds over 20 offers up to this point, including Clemson, Miami, North Carolina State and Tennessee. Kamara credits his dazzling season and the numbers that he put up to jump starting his recruitment, and feels his game has a lot to offer.

"I did pretty good in having 43 receptions for 835 yards and ending up with 12 touchdowns," said Kamara, rated a four-star recruit and the No. 16 wide receiver by Scout.com. "My game makes me hard to defend. I would say that I have a good combo of size and speed. I'm a good deep threat because I go get the ball and that I play physical. The thing that also helps is I'm a good pass catcher in traffic, too."

With the recruiting process is full swing, Kamara is looking to take some local visits to North Carolina and Virginia, but could see himself visiting Wisconsin sometime. Wanting to maintain his focus on his team, Kamara hopes to make a decision before his senior season.

"I would have to say that playing early, education, winning and a chance at the next level are all factors or things that I'll take in account when I make that final decision," Kamara said.
