Millender Building UW Relationship

Already holding an early offer from Purdue, Belleville (Ill.) junior middle inside linebacker Tori Millender is hearing from a number of Big Ten schools, including Wisconsin.

MADISON - Spurting on the scene with 102 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 5 sacks and a fumble recovery his junior year, Belleville (Ill.) junior middle inside linebacker Tori Millender has already a Big Ten offer from Purdue under his belt.

But Millender wants more, especially if it comes from Wisconsin.

The 6-1, 225 pound Millender is receiving interest from multiple schools in the Big Ten, including Illinois, Iowa, Indiana and Northwestern, but finds a high amount interest in the Wisconsin because of the school's recent hire of wide receiver coach Chris Beatty.

"Coach Beatty is the new coach there, and we've had plenty of time spent together from his old job at Illinois," Millender told Badger Nation. "He's the one sending me the letters now from Wisconsin. He has been recruiting me as a coach for a year, so we are very tight with our relationship.

"I mean Wisconsin is a great program obviously. It seems like I watch them in the Rose bowl every year. I like their presence in the Big Ten and also their adidas uniforms are nice. A Wisconsin offer would really be special. I would really consider them as my top school."

With his season done, Millender is now focusing on his upcoming visits, but knows he still has a long way to go until he has to start thinking about making that ultimate decision.

"My upcoming visits I have planned for is Missouri, Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Purdue," said Millender. "I will just get a feel for that school when I call and visit. Based on that I rate what I feel their interest level is with me. I'm just going to take my time. It's a long time between now and (signing day). A lot of things can happen between now and then."
