Badgers Join the Race for Lee

Holding a baker's dozen of scholarship offers, Fort Lauderdale (FL) Cardinal Gibbons junior wide receiver Trevon Lee latest offer has come from Wisconsin.

Florida has been a proven ground for Wisconsin in recruiting battles, and Coach Gary Andersen has continued that trend in his recruiting strategy.

Newly hired wide receiver coach Chris Beatty has been making a lot of noise recruiting on the East Coast and in south Florida. So when Fort Lauderdale (FL.) Cardinal Gibbons junior wide receiver Trevon Lee made contact with Beatty, he knew Wisconsin had a good one.

"Coach Beatty told me to call him over Facebook, so I called him in the afternoon and he said that they'd like to offer me a scholarship," Lee told Badger Nation. "I was extremely excited because Wisconsin is one of the best teams in the Big Ten."

The 6-1, 175-pound Lee holds offers from Auburn, Boston College, California, Duke, East Carolina, Missouri, Purdue, South Carolina, South Florida, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Louisville and USC. While Lee holds multiple offers from some of the top programs in the nation, he hasn't seen many colleges and plans on doing so over the summer, including a stop to see the Badgers.

"I'm definitely planning on taking a visit up to Wisconsin this summer," Lee said. "Just getting on the campus to feel the atmosphere, meet the coaches in person and try to learn more about the school itself are all things I am looking forward, too.

"As of right now, I don't have a rank of schools yet, so every school is fair game, but I'm definitely excited about the opportunity that I could go to such a great school like Wisconsin."

With the size, speed and strength to play wide receiver in the college ranks, Lee has confidence in his game.

"I always look the ball in, so I have great hands," Lee said. "I got a nose for the end zone. I have great field speed and overall I make big plays that every offense loves to have made."
