Deiter is Close to Committing

While he has kept his recruitment very close to the vest throughout the process, Genoa (OH) offensive lineman Michael Deiter says he is nearing the end of his recruitment.

Genoa (OH) offensive guard Michael Deiter has kept his recruitment very low key, but has seen the process start to really take off with recent offers from Nebraska and Illinois.

He also got another offer a while ago, but decided it would be best for him to keep it under the wraps while he listed to other schools. That offer was from his 'dream school,' which was Wisconsin.

"Yeah, Wisconsin has offered me," Deiter told Badger Nation. "I actually got the Wisconsin offer at the spring game, but I have kept it quiet as long as I could. It is out now. They are my top school right now."

With his coach getting a visit yesterday from Wisconsin tight end coach Jeff Genyk, the 6-5, 300-pound lineman doesn't deny that receiving that Badger offer was a big one, but he doesn't want to be labeled a Wisconsin commit just yet.

"I was excited for sure and I like the coaching staff plus the great tradition," he said. "I don't want everyone to think that I am about to commit to Wisconsin. They are my favorite right now, but I'm still looking around and haven't made a final decision yet."

When asked if he could put a percentage on what the chances were that he might commit to Wisconsin, he replied, "I can't answer that."

Dieter plans on committing before the end of May and would like to visit Michigan and Virginia Tech before he makes his decision.
