Wisconsin's 2014 B1G Schedule released

The 2014 season marks the first year Maryland and Rutgers will compete as members of the Big Ten conference. It will also mark the first year Wisconsin plays both schools in football.

MADISON - The University of Wisconsin won't have to wait long to see what Maryland and Rutgers are bringing to the football table.

The Badgers will host Maryland and travel to Rutgers with their two crossover games in 2014, the Big Ten announced Thursday.

Big Ten officials recently approved realigning the divisions based on geography to accommodate the addition of Rutgers and Maryland. Both schools were placed in the East Division and Wisconsin was placed in the West Division with its geographic rivals.

UW's full Big Ten schedule in 2014:

Sept. 27 – Bye

Oct. 4 – at Northwestern

Oct. 11 – Illinois

Oct. 18 – Bye

Oct. 25 – Maryland

Nov. 1 – at Rutgers

Nov. 8 – at Purdue

Nov. 15 – Nebraska

Nov. 22 – at Iowa

Nov. 29 – Minnesota

Dec. 6 – Big Ten championship game

UW is scheduled to host South Florida on Sept. 27. However, the remainder of the nonconference schedule is to be determined. The Big Ten is slated to release the 2015 schedule - the last with eight conference games - by June 1.
