An Offer from One of the Best

Henderson (NV) Liberty defensive end Jarvis Polu had been getting a lot of BCS interest, but all of his offers were of the mid-major variety. That changed Friday went Wisconsin and defensive line coach Chad Kauha'aha'a extended him a scholarship.

At 6-3 and 245 pounds, Henderson (NV) Liberty defensive end Jarvis Polu plays with an edge and has the tools to play at the next level. Wisconsin knows that as well and went ahead to become his fifth offer.

"Coach Chad (Kauha'aha'a) sent me a message to call him through Facebook," Polu told Badger Nation. "When he told me that Wisconsin was going to offer me, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Hearing one of the best schools offering a kid like me from Nevada? Now that doesn't happen a lot, but I was speechless when I received the offer and so were my parents. It was an incredible moment."

A huge reason the Badgers sit in good shape with Polu is the presence of Coach Chad Kauha'aha'a has made with him early on. There are many recruits that have expressed their gratefulness towards Coach Chad because of his realness and honesty.

"We haven't met in person, but I researched a lot about him and how he used to coach Star Lotulelei at Utah," said Polu. "That interested me a lot and he just told us the reason why they offered was not only because of my athletic ability, but my grades as well because Wisconsin is looking for Student-Athletes. It is an honor to be a candidate to play for their program."

With five offers under his belt, Polu says has two teams on top in Army and Wisconsin. Having it narrowed down to a top two already, what are the factors he plans on using when making that ultimate decision and when might that decision happen?

"I'm most likely going to visit Madison and I'm planning to visit West Point, as well," Polu said. "Distance and playing time are two of the things I will look at when I decide. I'm planning to make a decision in the summer before my senior year."
