Aranda Targets Pittman

Continuing to cover the state of Florida with scholarship offers, Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda personally offered Jacksonville (FL) First Coast middle linebacker Sherrod Pittman last week.

At 6-1, 220 pounds, Jacksonville (FL) First Coast middle linebacker Sherrod Pittman is an intimidating figure and backs it up his aggressive style of play. This past season, he recorded 74 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks, which has led to him over 20 offers.

One of his latest offers came from Wisconsin and he talks about how that news transpired.

"I found out about the Wisconsin offer from Coach (Dave) Aranda himself," Pittman told Badger Nation. "Coach Aranda came in and told me that Wisconsin would like to offer me a scholarship. I was really happy about that offer.

"I really don't know anything about Wisconsin, so that makes me even more eager to learn about their team and program. I look forward to finding out what all they have to offer. I do know that after meeting Coach Aranda that he is a really cool person and someone that I like."

As far as his recruitment goes, Pittman's recruitment is far from over and doesn't want to reveal any favorites or leader quite yet.

"My recruitment is going real good," he said. "I have a ton of offers and hearing from many as well. I'm not going to release any list or anything like that yet though."

Summer is quickly approaching and the talented defensive star is looking to trek to numerous schools down south.

"This summer I would like to go visit and see Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Louisville, South Carolina and North Carolina," he said. "Plans can change like everyone knows, but that is what I am looking to do."
