The nation's top quarterback, Kyle Allen from Scottsdale Desert Mountain says he will narrow his list of schools to a top five on today, according to Fox Sports' Jason Jewell.
Allen currently has 20 scholarship offers. The list includes Tennessee, Alabama, Cal, Fresno State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, West Virginia, Texas A&M, Oregon State, Colorado State, Colorado, Duke, Arizona State, Arizona, Boise St, UCLA, Oklahoma State and North Carolina.
Allen visited Wisconsin between football camps in early May and came away impressed with the visit. Allen has family in southeast Wisconsin and grew up following the Badgers, so that is positive for UW. Allen has stated previously that he wants to decide by the start of his senior season.
Top Lists Cut Out UW
Hopefully Allen's list will turn out before for UW than some others did. Two positions of need every recruiting cycle for Wisconsin are running backs and offensive linemen. Over the long weekend, two prospects came out with top lists that didn't include the Badgers.
On Sunday, Sugar Land (TX) Austin running back Vic Enwere mentioned that California, Missouri, Virginia, Colorado and SMU are his top options right now. Wisconsin has been involved in his recruitment, but hasn't been heavily active with the three-star tailback.
On Monday, Lackawanna (PA) Community College offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor announced a top six school. The 6-6, 300-pound junior college prospect has Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Ohio State, UCLA and USC.
Eluemunor's list is a top six, and throughout the process he has kept his list fluid. But he said narrowing the focus of his recruitment was needed, but not as bad as he thought it would be.
"It was tough at first to decide which ones I wanted in my top six because I had all the schools recruiting me and I'm thankful for the schools recruiting me," he said. "But when it came down to it, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be because the schools all the schools I liked offered me."
When asked about Arkansas making his list, Eluemunor stated the Razorbacks were involved because the coaches have been recruiting him since they were at Wisconsin. Bret Bielema was the first head coach to talk to Eluemunor, but never extended a scholarship offer while he was at Wisconsin (UW offered once the new staff was in place).
Bynum High on Wisconsin
Virginia Beach (VA) Tallwood high safety Christian Byrum continues to have a solid spring, having picked up 11 offers from some top programs, including one from wide receivers coach Chris Beatty and Wisconsin.
Bynum says he is going to probably make his decision at the beginning of the season or the middle of the season and that he wants to visit Wisconsin either in the summer or the fall.
