Nashville (TN) Father Ryan fullback Joseph Holzmer is not the first name most would think of but he has the skills and traits of a traditional fullback, which is why Wisconsin is keeping a close eye on him.
"I know that Coach Andersen has been checking out me and I'm in the process on getting my film to Coach Hammock," Holzmer told Badger Nation. "I haven't talked to anyone from Wisconsin. Hopefully sometime soon I will."
"I of course have interest in Wisconsin," said Holzmer. "They are easily top four for me right now. I still want to be able to meet the coaches and see what each school shows up next. Wisconsin probably would be third on my list right now. I am just excited to talk to them and hope to see where the recruiting process takes me from here."
This summer will be anything but lazy with visits lined up throughout his whole summer break. One destination he likely will see is Madison.
"I got Memphis coming up this weekend to visit," said Holzmer. "After that I will be taking visits to Tennessee, Miami (OH), Vanderbilt, Harvard, Penn, Wake Forest and Duke. I am also trying to see if I can make it to Wisconsin or not due to the overnight part, but I would love to try and come up there for a visit."
Wisconsin has already secured a verbal commitment from Salt Lake City (UT) East athlete Ula Tolutau, who could compete at fullback once he arrives on campus after his church mission trip in 2016.
