For what he hopes it the second time in four months, head coach Gary Andersen found himself a quarterback to take Wisconsin to new heights.

Camping Monday and Tuesday in Madison, Sandy (UT) Jordan junior quarterback Austin Kafentzis gave Wisconsin his verbal commitment.

Kafentzis' father, Kyle, confirmed the news.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound quarterback chose the Badgers over other offers from BYU, Hawaii, Utah and Utah State.

Kafentzis threw for 3,018 yards, rushed for 1,884 yards and scored 58 total touchdowns last season, estimating he only scrambled for approximately 21 yards last season. Kafentzisalso repeated as the state's best in the state at the javelin, winning the 5A individual championship with a throw of 179.0.
