London Looking to Name Top Five

Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas running back Madre London recently named his top ten choices, but that number is almost narrowed down to five. Wisconsin targeted London in late May and made the initial cut. Will they make the second?

Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas tailback Madre London listed the top ten schools he was in favor of earlier in the recruiting process: Nebraska, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Boston College, Illinois, Kansas, Rutgers, Pittsburgh and Florida State. He wasn't shy to admit the schools he was leaning towards as of right now.

"Nebraska is definitely in my top five," London told Badger Nation. "Mississippi State is definitely in my top five. Michigan State and Wisconsin still are, but it depends on whether another running back commits because they both already have a running back. That's four so far. Basically I'm trying to find that fifth spot. It's between Boston College, Illinois, Kansas and Pittsburgh."

The 6-1, 200-pound running back can see his style of play fitting into the running back tradition of Wisconsin.

"They just have a good running style for me," London said. "They run the ball a lot. They kind of use their big players, and they run the I. There's some similarities to the offense we run (at St. Thomas Aquinas). I know they want to get the playmakers the ball and I could be one of those people."

Rated a three-star back and No.75 tailback in the country by Fox Sports Next, London is still trying to get to know the coaches from each of the prospective schools on his list, which includes Wisconsin's wide receivers coach, Chris Beatty, and the running backs coach, Thomas Hammock.

"Coach Beatty is actually recruiting me, but I talk to the running back coach a lot so both of them are recruiting me together," London said.

Despite narrowing his top 10 list, London is still open when it comes to the whole recruiting process. London has already visited South Florida, Miami and Mississippi State this summer, but still wants to make a trip to Florida State and possibly see a game at Wisconsin in the fall.

"I will make Wisconsin one of my top five this fall for my official visit if they don't get another running back," London said. "If they get another running back, that's two running backs so I'll try and go somewhere that has less."

Whether he makes a trip to Wisconsin or not, he already knows playing in the Big Ten Conference would be a good experience for a big back.

The tradition there (Wisconsin) for being a winning program is tremendous and they (played in) the Rose Bowl last year," said London. "It's definitely a good experience for me. They're placed in a big conference, the Big Ten. That's a good conference, and besides the SEC that's the second best."
