"It was very surprising to receive the Badgers offer; I didn't see it coming," Stroman told Badger Nation. "My high school coaches told me to call Chris Beatty and that's when they offered me a scholarship on the phone."
The 5-11 Stroman proved his playmaking capabilities when he threw for 2,038 yards and 20 touchdowns, not to mention rushing for 1,013 yards and 14 touchdowns. Although he plays quarterback, his best position in college could be wide receiver or cornerback where he can have the football in his hands.
"Coach Beatty was just telling me about how they like how I make plays on the football field," Stroman said. "They like how I can change directions. Beatty didn't talk about any specific position that I could play for them but they would like to get me in a position where I can have the football in my hands."
Stroman would have no problem if he did have to switch positions because he feels that is the best way he can make an impact at the next level.
"I played corner and receiver my sophomore year of high school and even though I played quarterback last year I just consider myself a football player who can make plays when the ball is in my hands," Stroman said. "I take pride in my game when I can make plays on the field for my team and put up points or make big plays because that can excite the team and the fans."
Stroman hasn't had a lot of contact with Beatty prior to receiving his scholarship but they are slowly building a relationship.
"We've talked every once in a while on the phone and they have sent me mail about Wisconsin," Stroman said. "I'm definitely looking forward to continuing to get to know coach Beatty because he seems like a cool guy. What I've heard about Wisconsin from him a long with the mail I've receive about the Badgers is interesting. I definitely have an interest in visiting Wisconsin because I want to learn more then about their winning tradition."
"Right now no school is recruiting me particularly harder then the other so they are all even," Stroman said. "I'm thinking about visiting Virginia Tech July 14 and could visit Duke shortly after that. I definitely want to take visits to every school that has offered me just have to figure out when I can visit."
