Indispensable Badger #18

Counting down the days to Wisconsin opens training camp, Badger Nation's new summer feature will rank the 50 most indispensable players of the 2013 Wisconsin football team. Today we reveal No.18.

Kyle Costigan

Position: Right Guard

Experience: Redshirt Junior

2012 Stats: Played in 12 games, with nine starts, at right guard … Made first career test against Utah State.

Strengths: Strong lineman with an aggressive edge to him that shows during each play.

Weaknesses: Still needs to work on proper technique and needs to polish up the fundamentals.

Overall: Clearly the number one right guard on the Badgers depth chart, Costigan is looking to make another giant impact this season. His strength and power is overwhelming to opposing defenses, which was part of the reason the old Wisconsin coaching staff put him at defensive tackle when he first arrived. Costigan is your "typical" Wisconsin lineman, with an intimidating 6-4, 313-pound frame.

After missing spring practices to recover his body, look for Costigan to step it up even more this season. His experience and strength will work wonders for the Badgers' offense. Costigan will be a giant contributor to the success of the run game.

Up Next: Bursting on the scene in last year's postseason, our No.17 player looks to expand his role and become an even bigger component of Wisconsin's attack
