Indispensable Badger #10

Counting down the days to Wisconsin opens the regular season, Badger Nation's new summer feature will rank the 50 most indispensable players of the 2013 Wisconsin football team. Today we reveal No.10.

Beau Allen

Position: Nose Tackle

Experience: Senior

2012 Stats: Started all 14 games … Registered a career-high 37 tackles (18 solo) and 7.5 tackles for loss … Registered 2.5 sacks … earned first career start against Northern Iowa, recording three tackles and breaking up one pass.

Strengths:Allen is a tough and strong player. He has a powerful lower body which allows him to hold his ground during the run.

Weaknesses:Lacks the ability to pursue and close in and opposing running backs.

Overall: The Badgers will need to rely on Allen's consistency, strength and experience this season in order to be a successful defensive line. His overwhelming power will disrupt offensive lines and running attacks game in and game out. With his quickness off the line, Allen will be a giant contributor this season moving to nose tackle in the 3-4 defense; a position he played in high school and that seems to naturally suit him.

Look for Allen to be the main leader on the defensive end of the ball. His experience and overwhelming power will contribute to the defense's success this season.

Up Next: Our No.9 player has proven how indispensable he is with how much the team has struggled without him on the field
