Ruzek Enjoys Wisconsin Visit

One of many in-state players to take in the season opener, Stevens Point defensive end Andrew Ruzek continues to hold Wisconsin in high regard in his recruitment.

A player that many will hear about, especially next year on the recruiting front, is Stevens Point (WI) rising junior defensive end Andrew Ruzek. The in-state standout made it to Madison to watch Wisconsin take on UMass in the season opener and gave his thoughts on his game day experience.

"My visit went great," Ruzek told Badger Nation. "I got to go on the field by the players, which was a cool experience. The atmosphere of the whole stadium was just awesome. I didn't get to talk to any coaches today. I got there about an hour and a half before the game and they were already getting ready."

Although the 6-6, 240-pound defensive end didn't get to talk to the coaches, he got to see and take part in one of the greatest traditions in all of college football with the "Jump Around" after the third quarter.

"I thought the Badgers played great and it was cool to see how big the players are," said Ruzek. "I got to take in the ‘Jump Around' and I think it's probably the best tradition I've seen. It was awesome watching the whole stadium and the players getting into the song. Of course, I was jumping."

After taking an unofficial visit to Wisconsin, his visit agenda looks pretty clear, but he is more concerned with leading his team toward a conference championship, and beyond.

"I don't have any upcoming visits planned at the moment, but I'm hoping to plan some soon," he said. "My season is going great. We are 2-0 right now and I am really trying to lead my team to something special."
