Sturghill Down to Two

Following his in-home visit with Wisconsin defensive line coach Chad Kauha'aha'a, Memphis (TN) Melrose cornerback Cornelius Sturghill is down to a final two and will decide this month.

Wisconsin coaches have been all over the nation looking to lock down and finalize the 2014 recruiting class and one target that they jumped on late is Memphis (TN) Melrose senior cornerback Cornelius Sturghill. He recently got an in-home visit from defensive line coach Chad Kauha'aha'a and couldn't be happier with how things went.

"The in-home visit went well with Coach Chad," Sturghill told BadgerNation. "He talked to me and my parents. They loved everything he had to say about what is going on at Wisconsin and him as a person. He told me that if I come in and work hard and do what I got to do, then I could get some early playing time.

"It was great seeing Coach Chad in person. To make that connection with him and I was told the defensive coordinator was coming down to see me sometime next week, so I will start a relationship with him as well. That will be great too."

The 5-11, 170-pound three-star defensive back has now turned his recruiting attention to just two final schools and talks about when a decision could be coming.

"I have narrowed it down to a final two of Missouri and Wisconsin," said Sturghill. "I will be deciding around the time I take my official visit out to Wisconsin, which is on January 31st. It may be before the visit or may be after the visit, I haven't decided that yet.

"What I am looking for in a school is I want to see how the coaches are and playing time because I know if I come in and work hard, then I could get the shot to play as a true freshman."
