After making a splash in Florida during the 2014 recruiting cycle, the Wisconsin coaching staff is looking to continue its momentum in the south as the Badgers are building its relationship with Coconut Creek (FL) Monarch junior cornerback Ronnie Hoggins.
has been no stranger to the Sunshine State as of late with signing seven Florida natives in last year's recruiting class and plan on continuing that trend with one of their top targets in Coconut Creek (FL) Monarch junior cornerback Ronnie Hoggins
. He updates the latest with his recruitment and he feels about Wisconsin right now.
"My recruitment has been good," Hoggins told BadgerNation. "I just picked up a few offers from Florida International, Temple and Cincinnati. I'm very interested in Wisconsin. It's a great program and a great school, plus the fans are amazing. I also hear it's the best town in college football, so that's a bonus."
The speedy 5-10, 170-pound defender - who also holds an offer from Florida Atlantic - is still hearing from defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and knows they definitely want him in Madison.
"I talk with Coach Aranda and it is on and off, so not on a regular basis," said Hoggins. "He just talks about me getting up there and being a Badger. They have recruited a good class and I know a couple of players in the class, so they're always trying to get me to commit."
Currently a three-star recruit by Scout.com, Hoggins is a player that is becoming more and more aware in the recruiting circles, but the Badgers could be tough to beat in this race.
"Wisconsin is my leader and it is a possibility Wisconsin could be my home," said Hoggins. "I don't plan on committing soon and it'll probably be before the season or after."
The Badgers currently have verbal commitments from Sandy (UT) Jordan quarterback Austin Kafentzis and Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei tight end Kyle Penniston in the 2015 class.
