But having watched the program over the course of the past two seasons, Davis was understandably excited.
"I've watched them play a lot, especially when Russell Wilson played," Davis told Badger Nation, referring to UW's former QB and a Virginia native. "I don't really know too much in depth stuff on them, but it was unexpected for sure.
"I believe (they offered me) because my grades are high. I have a 3.3 GPA and I take grades very seriously. If you look at the film, look at the grades and the guy can play on the field, that's a good guy to have. I play with 110 percent on the field."
Davis finished last season with 18 catches for 456 yards and 10 touchdowns. Joining Wisconsin on his offer list are Marshall (who visited his school today) along with the three in-state schools in Old Dominion, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
"Those offers just show that I am one of the best players in the Virginia," said Davis. "To get all offers from all three big in-state kids shows that I can produce and play at the college level"
Although he hasn't heard from Wisconsin, Davis has the Badgers on his radar.
"I am going to look more into them," said Davis. "Wisconsin is a great school in a great conference. I watched them play South Carolina (in the Capital One Bowl) and I watched them play hard. They are a tough team."
