Wisconsin Targets One of Georgia's Best

Holding scholarship offers from most of the top college football programs in the country, Montezuma (GA) Macon County middle linebacker Roquan Smith talks about his latest offer from Wisconsin.

The Badgers have been invading the Peach State with new running back coach Thomas Brown leading the charge. Wisconsin has recently been offering multiple recruits from the state, but the most highly touted recruit to land an offer is Montezuma (GA) Macon County middle linebacker Roquan Smith.

"The running back coach told me that I got an offer from Wisconsin and we talked for a little," Smith told BadgerNation. "He was talking about building a relationship and me coming on a visit. With me visiting Wisconsin, it depends on how close we get from a relationship stand point. I don't know much about Wisconsin, but I'm honored to have an offer from Wisconsin and will take a great look into them."

The 6-1, 207-pound physical linebacker is the No. 2 middle linebacker in the nation and a four star recruit by Scout.com with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee and UCLA to just name a few among his long list of suitors.

However, with his recruitment he is looking to take it slow and take some visits.

"I don't have a list yet," Smith said. "I'm taking it one day at a time. My recruitment at times can get overwhelming with all the calls and mail. I am visiting Alabama on March 1st and Tennessee on the 8th."
