Daniels 'Fired Up' About Wisconsin

After offering D.J. Gillins' cousin earlier this month, Wisconsin makes another scholarship offer with family ties, offering Chris Chambers' cousin Warren (OH) Harding junior center James Daniels.

The offensive line tradition at Wisconsin is one of the most prestigious things in the nation and makes many young linemen recruits interested in how the Badgers develop their players.

Warren (OH) Harding junior center James Daniels has been building a relationship with offensive line coach T.J. Woods and got some very good news Saturday night.

"I found out about the Wisconsin offer when I talked to Coach Woods on the phone," Daniels told BadgerNation. "I was pretty hyped when he told me. He pretty much said to me how much respect NFL coaches have for Wisconsin offensive linemen and how fired up they are to have offered me."

The 6-4, 270-pound Daniels has a connection to the Badgers with his cousin being former wide receiver Chris Chambers, who has been putting in a good word with him on his alma mater.

"He always tells me how great of a program they are," Daniels said of Chambers. "I like the way they play. They run a physical offense and I like that. I'm really close to Chris and we text often. I do plan on visiting Wisconsin and maybe for a spring practice. I'm very excited on the offer and I look forward to visiting soon."

Daniels is ranked the No. 5 center in the nation and a three-star recruit by Scout.com, but is taking the process slow and has plans to see some campuses soon.

"My recruitment is going good," said Daniels. "I have offers from Iowa, Miami, Auburn, Ohio State, Michigan State, West Virginia, Cincinnati, UCLA and many more. I don't have a top list yet. I'm going to Ohio State on March 22th, Auburn on the 28th and I'm going to Iowa for (its) spring game. I will take more visits, but those are all I have planned now."
