Giella is Wisconsin's Next Georgia Target

Wisconsin continues to try and establish a presence in the state of Georgia, as new running back coach Thomas Brown recently extended a scholarship to Martinez (GA) Augusta Christian junior offensive tackle Zach Giella.

At 6-7 and 300 pounds, Martinez (GA) Augusta Christian junior offensive tackle Zach Giella is hard to miss on and off the football field. The mammoth Peach State lineman's recruitment has been as equally big and recently got even bigger when Wisconsin and running backs coach Thomas Brown extended an offer to him.

"I was messaging Coach Brown on Facebook and he asked if I was interested in Wisconsin and I told him yes, then he offered me," Giella told BadgerNation. "I was surprised because I haven't had much talk with Wisconsin. My relationship with Coach Brown is OK. We haven't talked tons, but two times. Wisconsin is just a great school."

Giella is currently the No. 78 offensive tackle and an early three-star recruit. He holds offers from Arkansas State, California, Duke, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, UAB and Virginia. He is also getting interest from Auburn, Florida State, Michigan and Stanford.

Giella only has a visit planned to LSU on April 5, but is also hoping to visit Wisconsin.

"Wisconsin is known for their offensive linemen and they are always a force in the Big Ten," he said. "I would like to visit Wisconsin. We are trying to work something out."
