Badgers Offer A Shock to Duvernay

One of three high school teammates who picked up a Wisconsin offer Wednesday, Sachse (TX) High sophomore wide receiver Devin Duvernay is thankful for the opportunity the Badgers are giving him.

Sachse High School in Texas had a blizzard of Badgers offers roll through their school, as three players wound up with a new offer from Wisconsin, including sophomore wide receiver Devin Duvernay.

"My coach called me in to his office and told me the news," Duvernay told BadgerNation. "My reaction was shocked because I haven't heard anything from Wisconsin. I've watched them a few times on TV, but don't know much about them. Just glad I have an opportunity to play for a big school like them. I'd love to play with my teammates Jared (Mayden) and Devine (Ozigbo) at the next level."

The 5-10, 175-pound speedy wide out has seen his recruitment pick up and gives the latest on it now. "My recruitment is going good," said Duvernay. "I have offers from Baylor, Texas Tech, Oregon State, TCU and Wisconsin. No schools are sticking out to me right now. I will be going to Texas Tech this Saturday and I do plan on visiting Wisconsin in the future."

Duvernay led Sachse in receiving yardage in 2013, when he caught 41 passes for 738 yards and 11 touchdowns, which tied for the team lead.
