Ozigbo Sees A Fit with Wisconsin

Calling himself a physical runner who is looking for a physical offense, Sachse (TX) High running back Devine Ozigbo was understandably excited about getting offered by Wisconsin on Wednesday.

After years of shying away from recruiting the state of Texas, Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen has decided to target some of the state's vast talent, plenty of which can be found at Sachse (TX) High. Wisconsin offered a trio of teammates from the high school Wednesday, and the first offer went out to junior running back Devine Ozigbo, who thinks he could fit right in their smash-mouth style of offense.

"My coach called me into the office with Jared (Mayden) and Devin (Duvernay) and he told us," Ozigbo told BadgerNation. "I feel blessed and this opportunity will be heavily considered and go Badgers! I know they have a great running back tradition in a huge conference that runs the ball. I feel like I'm a physical runner and could fit in most offenses including Wisconsin."

The 5-11, 213-pound powerful runner is considered one of the top backs in the Texas after his impressive junior season. A threat to run and catch the ball, Ozigbo racked up 947 rushing yards and 13 scores and 311 receiving yards on 23 catches. The three-star tailback updates his recruitment and his visit plans.

"My recruitment has been picking up recently," said Ozigbo. "I have offers from Utah, Iowa, Tulsa, UTSA, Miami (FL) and Wisconsin. I would love to visit Wisconsin and it sounds like a place to be. I will be visiting UTSA on the 26th."
