Mayden Joins Teammates with Wisconsin Offer

One of three Sachse (TX) High players to get offered by Wisconsin on Wednesday, sophomore cornerback Jared Mayden is anxious to learn more about the Badgers.

Sachse (TX) sophomore cornerback Jared Mayden was one of the leaders of an 11-1 team that advanced to the second round of the last year's playoffs. Now the physical defender is seeing his recruitment ramp up and picked up a new offer from Wisconsin.

"My coach called me in the office and told me Wisconsin offered," Mayden told BadgerNation. "I was shocked because I've never talked to Wisconsin. I really don't know much about them, but I've watched them a few times on TV and like how they play."

The 6-0, 190-pound Mayden was not the only person at his school to land a Badgers offer, as fellow teammates - sophomore wide receiver Devin Duvernay and junior running back Devine Ozgibo – also received Wisconsin offers. Would he be in favor in competing with his teammates in college?

"I would like to play with my teammates at the next level," said Mayden.

Holding other offers from Baylor, Bryant and Texas A&M, Mayden is still working coming up with an order to his top list and planning visits. He added he would like to visit Wisconsin.

Mayden had 25 tackles, two interceptions, four forced fumbles and four pass breakups.
