Badgers Roll Out the Red Carpet for Brown

Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson junior defensive end Dareus Brown was wowed by Wisconsin over the weekend and hopes the Badgers come calling with a scholarship offer.

Wisconsin has been creating a lot of noise down in the Peach State this spring and got a sleeper recruit in Stone Mountain (GA) Stephenson junior defensive end Dareus Brown to take an unofficial to Madison this past Friday.

"The visit was great," Brown told BadgerNation. "I was there all day. I started off by touring the stadium followed by meeting/following up with the coaches, including Coach Andersen. We had a good talk with him. Some of the staff took me around and we went to all of the facilities and I even had a chance to talk to Chris Borland. I met with academic advisors as well as the training staff. They really rolled out the red carpet for that visit."

The 6-2, 235-pound Brown thought of the highlight of his trip was meeting defensive coordinator coach Dave Aranda, who took him and his mom out to eat, one of the best parts of Brown's weekend.

"Coach Aranda and I clicked when we first started talking," said Brown. "He even went to his board and we started talking X's and O's on their 3-4 scheme and how I'd fit the system. They are in the mist of finishing up my evaluation and an offer is coming around when I start spring practice, which is about two weeks away. I would have to consider them if they offered. I really like them. Wisconsin is second to none and that if they land a commitment from me, they are getting a something special."

Brown is a three-star prospect and holds offers from Illinois, Georgia Tech and Purdue. He goes over what he is ahead of him in his recruitment.

"I don't have any more visits coming up right now," said Brown. "The reason for that is I'm looking to make a decision after the spring. I'm neutral on everybody and open to anything."
