Virginia has been a hot bed for some of the premiere talent in the nation and Wisconsin has been looking to lock up some of that talent with wide receiver coach Chris Beatty leading the charge. Beatty hasn't slowed down in his pursuit of securing some of that talent either when he offered Hampton (VA) Phoebus sophomore cornerback Robbie Robinson Sunday.
"I was told to contact Coach Beatty and that is when he offered me," Robinson told BadgerNation. "I knew it was coming, but I just didn't think today would be the day. I'm very interested in Wisconsin. They have a great football program, bowl game contenders every year and they have a great academic program.
"Coach Beatty and I have been in contact for a long time now and he always tells me how special of a player I am and how much they want me to be a Badger. I'll definitely be visiting."
The 5-9, 160-pound cornerback's recruitment continues to get bigger. In addition to Wisconsin, Robinson claims offers from Akron, Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Hawaii, Old Dominion, Penn State, Southern Miss, Temple and Virginia.
"I have no favorites yet," said Robinson. "I am just enjoying the process. I do got some upcoming visits, but no dates set though. I will be visiting Maryland, Penn State, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia Tech and Miami."
While Robinson's size might not be up to some coach's standards, his attributes make up for some of his shortcomings.
"I am electric, physical, smart, technical and confident," said Robinson. "I can improve in every aspect of my game, but mainly jumping off of one foot to go up and get the ball. This year is going to be really special on the field."
