Wisconsin Offer a Surprise for Listermann

Despite being one of Ohio's top offensive linemen, Noah Listermann is often surprised when a team offers a scholarship. That was the case on Thursday when Wisconsin extended an offer.

The scholarship count continues to rise for Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods offensive lineman Noah Listermann as Wisconsin caught the 6-foot-7, 270-pound junior off guard.

"I was kind of surprised they offered," Listermann told Scout.com. "I had talked with Coach (T.J.) Woods their offensive line coach and he said they were real high on me. But he also explained they have been kind of slow on offering guys as they really want to get to know guys first.

"I thought it would be a little bit before they offered and that I'd need to go up there and maybe even camp. But then during third bell, a recruiting reporter called me and said they offered me. I told him they hadn't because I didn't want to put out bad information but he said they did.

"I went and talked with my head coach because Coach Woods and Coach (Ben) Strickland hadn't really said anything about an offer. My coach had me call Coach (Gary) Andersen and he told me they were offering me a scholarship. He also said he's real high on me and that he'd watched my film a lot and from what Coach Woods and Coach Strickland had said, he wanted me to play for them."

Could a visit be coming anytime in the future?

"I'm hoping to visit because they are known as O-Line U," he said. "But it is a far trip and I'll have to get with my mom to figure out when I can visit. When I started playing football I really liked Wisconsin, so I would love to see it."
