Winter Garden (FL) West Orange defensive lineman Brandon Wilson isn't actually sure how many coaches have rolled through his high school over the last few weeks. They are all starting to blend together.
"I think we've had 23 coaches here," Wilson told BadgerNation. "I'm not really focused on it because it's a lot to think about."
Wilson's main focus is his team's spring game on May 23, but the 6-4, 240-pound lineman knows that he will spend the majority of spring and summer on his recruitment. Ranked a three-star prospect by Scout.com, Wilson claims early offers from Boston College, Charlotte, Duke, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, South Alabama and UCF.
Earlier this week Wilson added his first Big Ten offer when Wisconsin stopped by the school.
"It was out of blue," said Wilson. "I talked to coach for the first time Thursday. It was first time meeting them. I really didn't know that they knew about me. The coach said they saw how good I was and they believed in me. They didn't need to see me in person to offer me.
"That just shows how much interest they have in me. That has me excited about them."
Being recruited by most schools as an outside linebacker, Wilson finished last season with seven sacks, a good year but one where he felt he could have made more plays. That's led Wilson into film study.
"Right now I am starting to watch a lot more film, because I know I have to do that in college and I have to get used to that," said Wilson. "I've noticed that I've got to use my hands more."
Wilson wants to take some of his official visits before deciding.
