The state of Florida is a place that Wisconsin has put a big emphasis on this spring and the Badgers targeted one of the state's top pass-catching recruits in Neptune Beach (FL) Duncan U. Fletcher junior wide receiver Kalif Jackson.
"I was extremely happy to receive the offer," Jackson told BadgerNation. "I hadn't been talking them for a while so the offer did come as a surprise. I'm interested in them."
The 6-4, 200-pound physical wide out is not too familiar with the Badgers, but has a connection with true freshman quarterback, and Jacksonville native, D.J. Gillins, who Jackson played 7-on-7.
"Me and him are great friends and his family lives like five minutes away from me," said Jackson. "We still talk from time to time and all the time he talks about Wisconsin to me (laughter). He will tell me to come to Wisconsin and it'll be just like 7v7; me and you tearing everyone up."
Jackson sits as a three-star recruit by Scout and has seen his recruitment start to heat up lately, as he now claims over 20 offers with no favorites sticking out.
"At the end of spring my parents and I intend to sit down and decide which colleges we'll visit over the summer," said Jackson. "I'll make my decision before my first senior game. I will be looking for a stable coaching staff and good academic program, which will be my final determining factors."
