Interest growing for Hoggins

Those that closely follow high school football in South Florida know the name Ronnie Hoggins. He may be considered a bit of a sleeper on the recruiting front, but the 2015 corner of Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch makes his presence felt on the field.

Ronnie Hoggins has a double-digit offer list with schools including Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Temple, and Louisville. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound corner is hoping to see his offer list grow, but he's really not stressing over it.

"Spring has been going well, right now I'm just staying humble," he said.

Plenty of college coaches have stopped by Monarch to check out Hoggins and his teammates. Hoggins has added several new offers, but he's keeping a very open mind at this time.

"No schools really have my attention, I'm just focusing on my team and getting us to states," he said.

"If I had to pick a school, it'd be Wisconsin right now, but I'm still open to other schools."

Hoggins says Louisville, Cincinnati, Duke, and TCU are schools he hears from a lot. He thinks the Horned Frogs could be the next to offer.

"Oh TCU is going to offer," he said with a laugh.

"Me and (co-offensive coordinator) coach (Doug) Meacham had a great talk. He likes my speed on defense and what I can bring to the defense."

This summer, Hoggins plans to visit some schools, but he's not sure which yet. He'll likely do some of his traveling with teammates Shawn Burgess-Becker and Calvin Ridley, both Alabama commits.

"I'll probably make my decision before the season or after the season," he said.

"(I'm considering) early playing time, coaches, and just the college life."
