Smith Stops by Wisconsin

Hoping to stop by four Midwest colleges this week, Clearwater (FL) Central Catholic athlete Jeff Smith stopped by Wisconsin on Tuesday, the only school who has offered him thus far.

There have been a string of visitors the past couple days at Wisconsin and that continued Tuesday when Clearwater (FL) Central Catholic 6-1, 170-pound senior athlete Jeff Smith. He recaps his short trip to Madison and his conversation with secondary coach Ben Strickland.

"The visit went really well," Smith told BadgerNation. "I toured the campus and the facilities. I did talk to the coaches and I went over some defensive things Coach Strickland and just met some of the staff."

Wisconsin was the first offer, and thus far the only scholarship, for Smith back in March. While the Badgers like him as a defensive back, schools like Indiana and Northwestern like him as a quarterback prospect. Smith likes the thought of playing cornerback, especially after meeting with Strickland.

"I liked him," Smith said of meeting with Strickland. "He seems like he knows what he's talking and a great coach. I loved the visit and it definitely has to be one of my officials now."

Smith will possibly visit Purdue Wednesday, Indiana on Thursday and Iowa State on Friday.
