Schlueter Checks Out Wisconsin

While the University of Wisconsin had a lot of talented high school seniors on campus this past weekend, the Badgers also scouted some talented juniors, including Mayer (MN) Lutheran lineman Sam Schlueter.

One of the more impressive looking campers at Wisconsin this past weekend was Mayer (MN) Lutheran junior offensive tackle Sam Schlueter. After spending two days at the Sound Mind Sound Body camp in Detroit and then camping at Michigan State, Schlueter felt he made a good showing at Wisconsin despite some setbacks.

"It went alright," Schlueter told BadgerNation. "I pulled my calf the other day and I was pretty worn out because it was our fourth day in a row of camps. It was nice to meet some coaches at Wisconsin and get to look around. I really liked the offensive line coach and learned some things. I enjoyed the camp a lot!"

The 6-6, 285-pound tackle thought highly of offensive line coach T.J. Woods during his time in Madison and is excited to see what happens with his recruitment regarding Wisconsin.

"I talked to Coach T.J. Woods and he was a really nice guy," said Schlueter. "Him and Ben Strickland were the coaches I talked to. Coach Woods told me that I'm still young but I had great size and they'd definitely be recruiting me in the future. If I got an offer from them, I would like to look into the school more. It's in a great location, has great athletics, and from what I hear has great academics. I'm excited to see what happens with recruiting in the future."
