Things have been quiet on the recruiting front for LaGrange (GA) senior running back Mon Denson, which is perfect for the three-star prospect as he approaches the start of his senior season.
The 6-foot, 207-pound Denson has picked up over 16 scholarship offers during the process, and the quieter recent recruitment has allowed a handful of schools to emerge from the pact.
Heading into the dead period that extends through July 13, Denson says Arkansas, Georgia Southern, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin are talking to him the most. Running back coach Thomas Brown has been the lead recruiter for the Badgers, talking to Denson actively over social media.
"Our relationship is all right," Denson told Badger Nation of his relationship with Brown. "I had met him one time where he came to the school. He has been trying to see if he can get me up there. He tells me I would fit good because the way I am built. I am big, fast and strong."
Rated the No. 87 running back in country by Scout.com, Denson hasn't been to any camps thus far in 2014, but is planning visits in July to Arkansas, Georgia Southern and South Carolina. He is unsure if he will visit Wisconsin, but remains intrigued by the program.
"They are still on my mind and I don't plan on making a decision right now," said Denson. "I just want to wait everything out. I just want to see what everybody has to offer."
As Denson moves from program to program, he has a set list of objectives he's looking for that will determine the right program for him.
"The things I will consider is the depth chart, if the coaches make me feel like family, if I feel like I am at home and also the academic part," said Denson. "The end of the summer I will probably narrow it down to a top list and look at those things."
