Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby High School offensive tackle Brendan Loftus plans on announcing his decision on his future college home next week. The 6-foot-5 and 285-pound rising senior was planning on deciding between Miami (Fla.), Florida Atlantic and Penn State but for now only has scholarship offers from the Hurricanes and Owl.
Loftus traveled to Pennsylvania this past weekend for an unofficial visit with the Nittany Lions but left campus without a scholarship offer from Penn State. Loftus expects to hear back from Penn State offensive line coach Herb Hand later this week about whether or not he will have an offer from the Nittany Lions to consider before his July 29th announcement date. Either way, Loftus enjoyed his visit and is looking forward to hearing back from Penn State
”It went real well. We got a campus tour. We got an academic presentation and I got a chance to hang out with the strength coach. It was real fun. They said that they would hit me up later this week,” said Loftus of his trip and timetable to hear back about an offer.
Loftus says he enjoyed all aspects of his visit but his favorite part was interacting with the Penn State coaches and watching the Penn State coaches interact and talk to their players and other recruits.
The big lineman camped at Miami (Fla.) and was in attendance for but didn’t participate in Florida Atlantic’s satellite camp in Tallahassee earlier this summer.
