Carson Talks UGA Offer, Visit Plans

Butler RB Chris Carson (6-1, 210) received some big news on Thursday when his home-state school, the University of Georgia, decided to extend him an offer. JCFootball.com caught up with him to get the scoop on the offer as well as his plans for a visit this coming weekend...

"Georgia just offered me," a happy Carson told JCFootball.com. "Coach (Bryan) McClendon is the coach that offered me and he said they like the way I run and the way I finish runs.

"I'm taking an (unofficial) visit up there because I'm still at home. I'll go up there on Saturday and then I have to report up to Butler on Sunday, so it'll just be a quick trip to see the coaches and get a tour and stuff like that."

The offer from the Bulldogs joins the offers that he already had from Cincinnati, Colorado State, Iowa State and Utah State.

As a freshman in 2014, Carson rushed for 611 yards and eight touchdowns on 109 carries.

Carson said he plans to take all of his official visits either during the season or after and then hopes to make a decision quickly after finishing those up.

The talented runner is on pace to graduate in December and he will have three years to play two following the 2014 football season.
