Badgers Sitting Well with Davis

Ashburn (VA) Broad Run cornerback Chuck Davis originally wanted to decide by the end of summer. Now choosing to slow down his decision, the three-star cornerback planning on trim down his list this month, and the Badgers still are sitting well.

With the high school football season fast approaching and practices starting up, many prospects are shifting their attention to their seasons. While his focus is on his senior campaign, recruiting isn’t coming to a halt for Ashburn (VA) Broad Run cornerback Chuck Davis, who is finding that out by staying in constant with Badgers wide receiver coach Chris Beatty.

“Coach Beatty wants me to come down and visit soon,” Davis told BadgerNation. “I do plan on visiting, but I just need to set a date. I’m supposed to talk to him in a couple of days, so we will see. Our relationship is real good. We have been in contact since he was at Illinois.”

Earlier this summer, the 5-9, 160-pound corner had his sights set on deciding in August and had Indiana and Wisconsin at the top, but now he wants to slow things down and take more time.

“I opened it back up,” said Davis, who said he is also talking a lot to Oregon. “I felt like I didn’t give any of the other good schools a chance, but Indiana and Wisconsin are still high up there. I am real interested in Wisconsin still. They have a good program.”

Davis is planning on cutting down his list later this month, and the Badgers are in good position to make that cut.

“I don’t know, as of now, what I like about (Wisconsin), but I just know that their football program is real good,” he said. “I hope to learn more about academics and stuff when I go down there to visit.”

Davis plans on committing mid-season and will be considering the players on the team, the coaching staff and academics when he decides.
