OU 2016 offers: Linebacker

Linebacker is a huge position of need for OU for 2015 and going into 2016. Here are the early offers at this point.

The Class of 2015 is halfway there for Oklahoma, but it’s never too early to start dissecting what the Sooners are up to for 2016.

Here is a list of OU’s offers at every position and one name to watch. The name to watch isn’t necessarily the most likely to commit but just a name to keep on your radar going forward.

Havelock (N.C.) High’s Keion Joyner (6-3, 205, No. 1 OLB)

Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West’s Caleb Kelly (6-2, 220, No. 3)

St. Clairsville (Ohio) High’s Brendan Ferns (6-3, 225, No. 7)

Marrero (La.) John’s Michael Divinity (6-3, 200, No. 23)

Rialto (Calif.) Carter’s Lokeni Toailoa (6-2, 225, No. 1 MLB)

One to watch: Kelly. It’s that Tony Perry connection coming into play once again for the Sooners. OU was the first school to offer Kelly, and he should be one of those guys that ends up with 40-50 offers when it’s all said and done. What has been funny is watching the interaction between Kelly and Toailoa. On Twitter it has appeared as if they’re a package deal. That’d be one heck of a package, but we’ll see how things progress in each of their recruitments.

OKPreps to watch: Edmond Memorial’s Zeke Mammen. Taking a stab in the dark on this one. Mammen comes from a strong family of quality athletes. His older brother, Jake, might have had a better shot at success if he was two inches taller. Zeke has those inches so if he has that killer instinct his brother had, he should rise up people’s boards by the winter and spring. Maybe not OU-level good yet, but an intriguing one to follow.
