Despite coming close on a number of prospects, Wisconsin has failed to land a high school senior out of the state of Virginia. That doesn’t mean that wide receiver coach Chris Beatty is going to leave the state without a fight.
Continuing to aggressively target many prospects in the region, one of Wisconsin’s main targets in the state is Stafford (VA) Colonial Forge senior wide receiver Gary Jennings, who Beatty has been trying to schedule for an official visit this fall.
“I’ve been in contact with the Wisconsin coaches about it, but I have not set a date up yet,” Jennings told BadgerNation. “I have been in contact with Coach Beatty a lot lately. He has been telling me just the need to get me up there and that I am the piece that they’re missing, receiver wise. It is a good feeling knowing that I have the ability to make an impact right away.”
The 6-2, 190-pound three-star wide out, who sits as the No. 131 ranked wide receiver in the country by Scout.com, took a visit to West Virginia for its game against Oklahoma last weekend and saw Maryland when the Terrapins hosted the Mountaineers on Sept.13.
“Wisconsin is definitely one of my top schools,” said Jennings. “My top list is Wisconsin, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Boston College. I’m very excited to see the environment and the program when I get down there.”
