One of five official visitors on Wisconsin’s campus over the weekend for the Badgers home game against South Florida, Coral Gables (FL) senior wide receiver, and Georgia commit, Shaquery Wilson could tell the Badgers were rolling out the red carpet for him.
“The visit went fine and good,” Wilson told BadgerNation. “I liked going to the game and it was a good experience going to a Wisconsin game. Just being there was good. I liked it a lot. The players were cool. I liked the area and everybody is nice, so I liked it there. I could see myself playing up North.”
The 6-1, 190-pound three-star prospect is ranked the No. 50 wide receiver in the country by Scout.com. Wilson spent a good portion of the visit chatting with wide receiver coach Chris Beatty, who made it very aware to Wilson that they want him in the fold.
“I got to talk to the wide receiver coach and meet all the wide receivers,” said Wilson. “He was trying to make things happen and he was basically trying to get me to commit. I like it up there, but I just sat down with my dad and think about things.”
After this official visit, where do things stand with Wilson and Wisconsin?
“Wisconsin is my second team right now,” said Wilson. “I am still solid to Georgia though.”
