Rugamba Stops by Wisconsin

With wide receiver one of the main focal points moving forward for the Wisconsin coaching staff, the Badgers have started building a relationship with Naperville (Ill.) Central junior wide receiver Emmanuel Rugamba, who was on campus Saturday.

Hosting Illinois this past weekend, Wisconsin took advantage of the good weather conditions to bring in several recruits from the 2015 and 2016 class. One of the youngsters on campus was Naperville (Ill.) Central junior wide receiver Emmanuel Rugamba and walked away feeling good about his time in Madison.

“The visit went great,” Rugamba told BadgerNation. “We got to hang out in the player lounge, eat with some of the coaches and watch the game. I didn’t get to talk to my recruiter coach or the wide receiver coach, but I talked to the recruiting coordinator. So far I haven’t been able to distinguish exactly what I like about the school because the relationship just started, but I like how close it is to home and how the whole city go to the games.”

The 6-0, 170-pound rising wide out already holds a Illinois offer along with receiving interest from Iowa State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State. With that in mind, the three-star prospects had several things on his visit stand out that has him excited about the Badgers moving forward.

“My favorite part of the visit was the game because of the atmosphere of it and how into the game the fans are,” said Rugamba. “I’m interested in (Wisconsin), as any other school I’ve visited or heard from. If they offered it would be an awesome feeling to have Wisconsin as an option when making my decision.”

Rugamba might visit Iowa State later this season.
