MADISON - Losing Warren Herring after the season, the University of Wisconsin wanted to take steps to fortifying the middle of its defensive line. On Monday, the Badgers found a prospect that fits that billing.
Santa Ana (CA) Mater Dei senior tackle Olive Sagapolu pledged to the Badgers at the end of his official visit, becoming the 22nd player in Wisconsin’s 2015 recruiting class.
The 6-2, 290-pound Sagapolu had additional offers from Kansas State, Sacramento State and Washington State, but is current teammates with Wisconsin tight end commit Kyle Penniston and had built a strong relationship with defensive line coach Chad Kauha’aha’a.
He’s rated a three-star prospect and the No.41 defensive tackle in the country by Scout.com
