The future at the Wisconsin quarterback position in years to come arguably could be Sandy (UT) Jordan senior quarterback Austin Kafentzis, who has been committed to the Badgers program since June 2012 and took his official visit to Madison for UW’s 52-7 win over Maryland.
“It was everything I expected and more,” Kafentzis told BadgerNation. “We watched the game and ate, ate and ate. They made sure we went home on a full stomach. The food was top notch.”
The 6-0, 205-pound signal caller has thrown for 3,289 passing yards and 35 touchdowns while rushing for 1,620 yards and 23 scores as well this season. However, one stat that doesn’t show up is his leadership and the bond he has created with his team. Not only has he created a strong bond with his team, but he has been doing that with his future teammates especially further during this weekend.“I talked to Sam (Madden), Kyle (Penniston), David (Moorman), David (Pfaff), Elu (Aydon), Olive (Sagapolu), Dominic (Sheppard), Juantez (McRae),” said Kafentzis. “I talked to all of them at some point this weekend”
“I think this class looks solid all the way around,” he added. “They all have the right mindset and are ready to get rolling and everyone was just amazed by the whole experience. We were all vibing throughout the trip.”
