Offensive RecruitsJon Dietzen - “My commitment is still solid was ever. I can't wait to meet with Coach Chryst.” David Edwards - “I don't know much about him but from what I've heard he's a great offensive coach that runs a killer pro-style. I am solid too.” Kevin Estes (from his mother) – “He was not worried. He knew Barry Alvarez would pick the right coach." She also let us know of some pictures he took recently and that he is wearing his Badger hat. He commented after saying, "he never takes that thing off.” Brandyn Lee - “I know that Coach Paul Chryst runs a pro-style offense, which consists of running and passing the ball. With Coach Chryst, Wisconsin has a bright future and I'm excited to play for him.” Sam Madden – “I honestly could not be happier and more excited to have Coach Chryst as our head coach. Words can't describe my deepest levels of joy, excitement, and just knowing that now we have our coach. I am going to bring my absolute best every single second for him. I can't wait to dominate for Coach Alvarez and Coach Chryst and become a part of the next great chapter in UW history.” David Moorman - "Still solid! I'm waiting to here from Coach Chryst and his staff still but I think he is the perfect fit for the job!" Kyle Penniston – “Love it. Hope he keeps Coach Genyk, but excited about getting there in January and working with Coach Chryst! I am solid to Wisconsin.” Jordan Stevenson – “What I do know is that he is a very good guy. He brings a lot to the table. When I do get to speak with him, then I will get to know more in what he is trying to do with this program. My take on the coach is that I feel it is a good deal going on. One thing people need to understand that is that I did not commit to the coaches, but to the University of Wisconsin.” Antonio Williams – “I'm very excited to see what he has in store for the future of Wisconsin football.”
Defensive RecruitsZack Baun – “I don't really feel a certain way. Kind of indifferent to the whole thing. I understand that coaching changes have happened before and the tradition of the program hasn't changed through the process. I know that he has coached here before and that he's a genuine guy. I also know he really cares for his players.” Titus Booker – “I think that it's a good move and will be for the better in the long run. I am still committed to Wisconsin and am slated to talk to the new staff later this week.” Jordan Griffin – “I'm interested in learning more about (Chryst). I heard he brings a good attitude to the football team, but I don't know too much about him right now, though. (If Aranda stays), that would definitely be a big impact for me because we have a good relationship.” T.J. Griffin - "I'm still committed to Wisconsin. I haven't talked to Coach Chryst yet, but hopefully I will soon." Chris Orr – “I heard that he's a great coach, and I can't wait to meet him. My commitment is solid.” Jake Pickard – “I think it’s great and am very excited to speak with him and be able to see who he brings. I’m very excited for this new era of the Badgers…I can't wait to talk to him and see who he brings to fill Coach Chad's spot. I will have to see what happens with the new staff, and I will be taking an official visit to Syracuse.” David Pfaff - “I am real excited! I have been fortunate to have some good coaches all the way up through high school. Now, I have Coach Chryst and he seems like a good man for the job. He seems like a real Wisconsin type of guy, knows how this program works and has strong ties to the city. I think he will make a real good fit and I am super excited. I kind of looked through his coaching staff to see who might be coaching me on the defensive line and those guys seem very nice. I already had plenty of interest from Pittsburgh, so I am just really excited to get to know him.” Olive Sagapolu – “I'm definitely excited. I don't know a whole lot about the new head coach, but excited to work with him. I can't wait to get out there and get to work. Vanderbilt and San Jose State have shown interest and yesterday I got offered by Illinois. I do plan on taking official visits. I plan on taking one to Kansas State and also one to Illinois, but I still need to get all my stuff together. It will definitely hurt me if Coach Chad leaves, but it is something that I have thought about a lot and it is something I am willing to do in continue my career at Wisconsin. Even though Coach Chad was there and recruiting me, I still need to look at the bigger picture. I appreciate all he has done for me, but I want to see how the whole new coaching situation works from there.” Nick Thomas - “I don't know much about Paul Chryst and I haven't had a chance to talk to him. But I've heard nothing but good things about him from the staff at Wisconsin and other coaches at the collegiate level. I'm looking forward to talking to him and I'm glad that he's on his way back to Wisconsin.”
"Initially, I was with the idea that (Coach Aranda) was going to leave. I took a visit to Nebraska and I was thinking about flipping to Nebraska, but with the news that he's going to stay, it definitely makes my decision harder. It's going to be a tough choice between Wisconsin and Nebraska that I'm going to have to make pretty soon.”Editor’s Note: Reactions from X’Zavien Ausborne, Elu Aydon, Davon Crookshank, Nate Howard, Andrew James, Austin Kafentzis, Dominic Sheppard and Takadrae Williams were not available for comment at the time this story was posted.
